La Bourse - Brussels

The building that houses the Brussels Stock Exchange is called La Bourse, and it is situated in the homonymous square. Built between 1867 and 1873 under the direction of architect’s Léon Suys, this was the place where animated negotiations took place. Today all negotiations are handled through computers. Particularly interesting are the engravings on the building façade, especially the group representing Asia and Africa (apparently a work by the French sculptor Rodin). Under the loggia one can admire two statues representing Evil and Good, a work by Jacques de Haen.
